A permanent leg for downtown Montréal
The Ring is an art installation with a timeless character symbolizing the strong connexion between Montreal, PVM, Montrealers, and visitors from around the world.
Designed by the internationally renowned Quebec creator Claude Cormier and his landscape architecture and urban design firm Claude Cormier + Associés, The Ring highlights the dynamism of the downtown core and is a testatement to its cultural vibrancy.
The 30-metre diameter art installation is suspended at the main entrance of the recently revitalized Esplanade PVM, establishing it as a preferred gathering place.
Possessing all the attributes of an emblematic installation, Ivanhoé Cambridge gifted The Ring to the city of Montreal as PVM’s 60th anniversary approaches. After two years of pandemic, Ivanhoé Cambridge committed to art to gather citizens and visitors so they can reconnect with the heart of the city.
